«Baan Pho» means the house of the Bodhi tree, a symbol of wisdom and serenity. A name that says how we understand massage: a place to care for the body and find calm again.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to
know before you come

Which massage do I need if I have pain or tension?

If you have pain in your back, neck or shoulders, or you feel a lot of muscle tension, we will advise you on the right treatment. Everyone is different, so before we begin we will talk with you to understand what you need and adapt the massage so you get as much from it as possible.

Does Thai massage hurt?

It should not be painful. We always adapt the pressure to each person’s preference and needs. If at any point you would like it softer or firmer, just tell us. Our aim is a massage that is effective, safe and comfortable from beginning to end.

What should I wear for the massage?

Come in your usual clothes; there is no need to bring anything special. We provide everything the treatment requires. For oil massages you will have disposable underwear, and we use towels to protect your privacy and keep you comfortable throughout the session.

How often should I have a massage?

It depends on what you need. If you are easing discomfort or built-up tension, many people find a massage every two to four weeks works well. If you simply want to relax and look after your wellbeing, come as often as suits your life.

What can I expect after a massage?

A pleasant sense of relaxation and lightness is normal. In some cases, particularly after a firm-pressure massage, mild muscle tenderness can appear over the following 24 hours. We suggest drinking plenty of water and avoiding intense physical effort for the rest of the day.

When should I not have a massage?

If you have a fever, a contagious illness, a recent injury, a thrombosis, open wounds or any significant medical condition, it is best to check with your doctor before having a massage. If you are pregnant or have any doubt about your health, tell us when you book so we can advise you.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking is not compulsory, though we recommend it so you get the time that suits you best. If you drop by the studio without a booking and we have availability, we will gladly see you. You can also book easily over WhatsApp, by phone or through our online booking.

Should I eat before coming for a massage?

Ideally, avoid a heavy meal right before the massage. If you are hungry, have something light an hour or two before your appointment. Arriving on a very full stomach can be uncomfortable, particularly during certain positions and movements.
